    •
    • So far embc is the only RBC with the 2009 accreditation now more rigorous following the Byron review. The accreditation process involves rigorous testing of the live environment to ensure that it provides appropriate filtering, word management, safety and support services across the network.

 Autumn Term

New SUMS

The Web Admin Toolkit (WAT) is being upgraded to the Schools User Management Service (SUMS) during the Autumn half term. This will mean that school administrators will have a new tool to use to manage pupil embc account administration. SUMS provides a feature rich environment for the management of embc user accounts including improved password management, on demand reporting, simpler bulk upload auditing, improved user reporting and a self service tool framework to name a few.

User guides will be provided on the embc portal at www.embc.uk.com

Details will be provided on the implications and transfer dates via letter, embc portal, Talk2Synetrix and the current WAT admin site.

 YouTube

embc have enabled access through the embc network to YouTube for adult users on Level 1 filtering. This enables teachers to access the range of resources now being provided by organisations including the government, through YouTube.

Users on Levels 2-4 filtering (Pupils and Adults,) will not be able to access YouTube through the embc network.

This change will not override any local site policies for web filtering and control.
