embc aims to widen these opportunities through the services they provide over the network and the access they enable to local authorities and third parties. embc will provide teachers and pupils with a rich set of applications and services which will enhance teaching and learning; Single SignOn, high definition videoconferencing, access to the NEN (National Education Network, Mobile Access, Identity Management, collaboration zones and MySites. embc actively works with innovative and energetic practitioners in the development and sharing of learning opportunities in a community of over 600,000 children and adults.
The network and services continually change to keep up with the fast pace of technology and the demand from schools for learners to benefit from new and emerging opportunities, in and out of school. To accommodate these advances embc and Synetrix will enhance the standard service and develop a range of additional services with schools and Local Authorities can purchase in addition to the standard service. These will be offered through an online ordering system on the embc Gateway and the first set of services will be available in July 2008.
