The embc network has been designed to be fully resilient ensuring the embc service is reliable and robust, removing, where possible, single points of failure.
The resilience is provided by having two connections into the server farm and the local exchange for your connection which means that if one goes down the network still operates. The weakest link is still the line from the local exchange to your school and we are working on that to offer options to offer resilience on this link.
embc is supported by a professional and experienced team of people who manage and monitor the network and services 24/7 ensuring that there is reliability and capacity. Regular refreshes of the network occur to ensure that new innovative technology and services are taken on board to secure the future of the network and deliver capacity for increased use by learners and teachers in schools and increasingly away from school.
There is an embc dedicated Service Support Desk which provides first and second line support to schools and Local Authorities. Incidents are dealt with by trained support desk personnel who will manage incidents through the online logging system which provides visual updates on the incident through the Talk2Synetrix service which is accessed by a username and password.
For Service Support and assistance please see the contacts on the Support Page.
