This access includes filtered access to the Internet, the NEN (National Education Network), ISP services, the embc and Local Authority portals, enabling children to use a wealth of resources and to communicate with each other in a safe environment.

The embc email filtering service filters email for the latest viruses, spam, pornographic images, unacceptable language and other types of inappropriate content. Monitoring shows that spam makes up over 80% of email traffic and this is removed from the incoming mail allowing users to see just mail which is relevant and more importantly safe.
The service is highly configurable enabling filtering settings to be modified to suit year level or indeed individual students and adults.
Webfiltering through Netsweeper provides filtering of URL’s from a database which contains millions of categorised URL’s and which is checks new sites as they are accessed by users.
The embc webfiltering provides 4 preconfigured levels of filtering appropriate to users, with the addition of local control filtering for schools requiring differentiated access.
