Welcome to e-Safety

embc provide a safe and secure online learning environment for learners in the East Midlands region.

Working with local authorities and government departments, Becta, CEOP, we have developed a range of tools to keep users safe including internet and email filtering, virus protection, AUP (acceptable use policy), and a host of other services to monitor and protect users.

However, being safe online relies on people selecting appropriate filtering levels, educating on appropriate behaviour, understanding the risks of using the Internet: having tools but also knowledge to be able to work safely. The links on this page provide connections to organisations who are experts in esafety.

There are learning resources, games, information on policy and best practice, documentation and the latest news and events relating to esafety.

"We hope you find it useful. If you have any comments please let us know."

The internet is a wonderful resource providing information and learning activities. It has a darker side, of information not appropriate to learners. Schools should be aware of the potential dangers taking measures to ensure safe usage by all.

Anti-Bullying Week shines a light on bullying, sending a clear and positive message that it is neither acceptable or inevitable in our schools and communities. Held in November each year, Anti-Bullying Week is run by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, with funding support from the DCSF. Click here for more information and tools to use in the classroom.
